I have a code of conduct and ethics that I always work to, and that is very important to me, so you can rest assured that you’re always in safe hands.

Hypnotic trance (hypnosis) is quite normal, we go into trance many times a day, on average someone will go into a trance every seven minutes, reading a book, watching TV, even when driving. Just imagine when you’re driving to a destination you already know, you get into your car and drive, changing gears, turning corners, avoiding obstacles without really thinking about it.

Hypnotic trance is when the conscious and subconscious minds come together and focus on the same thing. When I put a client into this hypnotic state, I have access to their subconscious mind, so the suggestions I make are much more powerful and this will allow me to create the desired change for the client. It is very powerful and it can work very quickly for many people.

Hypnosis is completely safe and quite a normal state of mind. You will be in safe hands with me as we go through the process. Many of my clients love the experience.

Being in hypnosis won’t make you do anything you don’t want to do. You can come out of hypnosis any time you want.

There’s no loss of control. You’ll never do anything against your moral, religious, or personal values. You wouldn’t do anything you wouldn’t normally do. It’s completely safe, and your mind will keep you safe.

You won’t tell any secrets in hypnosis if you don’t want to. If you had a secret in your normal woken state, you would keep it secret in hypnosis.

Hypnosis doesn’t put you to sleep. It puts you into a focused state and relaxation. Some clients come out saying it’s the most relaxed they’ve been. Some don’t realise they have been in hypnosis.

In hypnosis, you recognise your potential with focus. You will hear everything that I say. You are safe and in control at all times. So just let me guide you.

No, you won’t get stuck in hypnosis. Your mind wouldn’t let this happen, so it’s perfectly safe.

We all naturally go into a hypnotic/trance state many times a day. It’s normal and a part of our everyday life. We need to do it.

So everyone can be hypnotised. It’s scientifically proven. Each client just needs to be open to it and have a desire to make changes in their life.

Don’t force anything. Follow what I say, and just let it happen. Going with the flow of the process with my guidance allows each client to get to where they want to be.

You’ll be pleased to know that I don’t go into much detail about what clients have been through. I don’t ask clients to go through any trauma detail either, as they really may not want to relive this. We’re looking forward to the future. That’s always a relief to my clients (and it may be a relief to you too, don’t you think?) because they want to move on from a problem, not have it rule or affect their life, and this is where I can help.

In most instances, I explain how the brain works, how we suffer in the way we do, and what we can do about it. This can help clients understand what’s going on with them.

After explaining how the brain works, there are different approaches I can take. Some can be quicker, and some can take a little more time. Whatever the approach used, clients are safe, feel comfortable and enjoy the experience.

I put clients into a state of relaxation and focus. All they need is the desire to make change, and to go with the flow of the process.

I will guide you through to where you want to be, all you need is a desire to make changes and to go with the flow of the process.

How long it takes and how many sessions are needed depends on what you want therapy for. It varies from person to person.

Like anything, there are no guarantees. We can only do the work you are committed to doing. I cannot force you to do anything you don’t want to do (and I would never try).

The initial session will provide an understanding of how many sessions you may need. As a general rule, I’d say 1-5 sessions, it depends on the client. I’ll never suggest more sessions than I think is needed.

As we progress, sessions may sometimes need to be modified to better suit your needs, and I have techniques that I can use.

Sessions will generally last up to 60-90mins.

Face-to-face sessions

Face-to-face sessions are available again, but with COVID still around and the changes may take place. Please let me know if you are unable to attend due to symptoms and of course, I would likewise also inform you.

I can if you prefer, wear a face covering. I may also request this.

Hand sanitiser should be used upon arrival. I can provide the sanitiser.

All useable areas will be sanitised the best I can for each client before the session.

I offer Hypnotherapy online via Zoom (subject to availability. Check the booking dropdown to see if it is available). You probably already know that Zoom is a video conferencing service to allow you to virtually meet with others via video over the Internet. It can be used on your computer, tablet or your mobile phone.

How to book a Zoom session

1. On the Hypnofirst website, click here or the ‘Book’ button, you’ll see it above
2. Select the Zoom service (if it’s available) and the preferred date and time
3. Complete the form
4. Upon success, you can add your booking to your calendar
5. You’ll receive your booking confirmation and a link for your session via SMS/email.

Hypnotherapy Zoom Sessions can be as effective online as face-to-face therapy.

How to prepare. A guide to the online session:

  1. Make sure you choose a quiet area where you won’t be disturbed duration of the session
  2. Turn your computer/phone/tablet to ‘Do not disturb’/’Focus assist’ so you are not disturbed. Ensure all other phones are off or silent
  3. Inform all members of the household that you need to have peace and quiet and that you are not interrupted during the session. After which you will inform them
  4. If you are due any deliveries, place a note on the door to leave it in the garden or with a neighbour
  5. Make sure you do not have anything on the stove or in the oven that you need to check
  6. Make sure you have allowed yourself some absolute quiet/do not disturb time for the session. Allowing for any over-run of time
  7. Find somewhere comfortable to sit. It can be a recliner or a bed, somewhere you can rest your head back and where your neck is supported
  8. Ensure you have a good internet connection
  9. Ensure your battery on your phone or computer is charged or plugged in
  10. Use ear/headphones if possible and check everything is working
  11. Hypnotherapy is completely safe, but for additional safety, if you are on your own, ensure you have made someone near you, aware that you are having hypnotherapy and that I am provided with the contact info of that person so they can check on you if the internet drops out
  12. Be relaxed and enjoy the experience!
